Dr. Alissa Sherry is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin and has been a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas since 2003. She received her B.A. in psychology from Auburn University and her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited graduate program. She completed an APA accredited internship at the University of Oregon and a postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. She teaches in the APA accredited doctoral training program in Counseling Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, where she has been on the faculty since 2002. She teaches courses in Psychological Assessment, Ethics, Substance Abuse, and Forensic Psychology, among others. Through her research, teaching, and practice, she has expertise in attachment, family systems, trauma, professional ethics, substance abuse and psychological assessment, to name a few.
